Kathryn Kozak (she/they) is a researcher, activist, and consultant who helps others develop habits, attitudes, and ways of life that are in line with socially just principles and values. Kathryn is particularly interested in civic engagement, LGBTQ+ identity, and helping to demystify and deconstruct structural inequality and systems of oppression.
Kathryn completed a doctorate in Applied Developmental Psychology at Suffolk University. Her dissertation explored a brief civic education intervention to help people choose and vote for a presidential candidate.
Kathryn is also a Certified Organizational Coach, Level One through Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL). She offers career and executive coaching services with focuses on nonprofit leadership and academic research and publishing.
Kathryn most recently worked at 5HD, a digital advertising agency, as Director of Performance and Analytics. As part of her responsibilities at 5HD, she managed a system of automated marketing reports, conducted data analysis projects, and has created and implemented an ongoing series of agency-wide professional development workshops.
Kathryn has worked as the Community Service Fellow at Suffolk University’s Center for Community Engagement, managing the Alternative Spring Breaks (ASB) Program and overseeing ASB’s leader development program. Kathryn’s teaching experience includes undergraduate courses in Educational Psychology, Lifespan Developmental Psychology, and Health Psychology at Suffolk University as a graduate lecturer.
In her free time, Kathryn enjoys talking to others about gender identity and sexuality, gluten-free baking, and binge-watching TV. She prides herself on her ability to bring humor and levity into serious conversations, and enjoys helping people explore and work through difficult topics.
